The most vile "meat product"

source: www.netstate.com

I was catching up on my blog reading this morning and came across an entry at "Fooducate" that needed to be shared. To say that I found this to be disturbing is an understatement. Those of you that eat meat will be much more grossed out by this. Don’t worry; this isn’t going to be one of those suffering animal stories. I can't read those sorts of things either. However, the author explains where the meat that goes into chicken nuggets, chicken sausage, etc. comes from. It wasn’t at all what I expected. Reading things like this is exactly why I prefer to make our food.

  1. ye thats pretty bad, that is somethng that my husband reads on his meaty stuff packaging...and we have always wondered exactly what it means. thats pretty rough stuff you know? im going to show him. also im sorry about so many comments, i dont see how you arent flooded with them. you are fun to read the directions are easy to follow and i love the personal spin you put on everything. also the mini explantions that you give about why things are good for you(for fighting cancer etc) you seem to have made a huge change in diet even though you didnt have to because your husbands health. but you went full strength ahead and and are so cheerful about it. also i saw that im on your blog list, please please do not feel like you need to do that, i barely blog and i just started. its so hard right now to do things on the computer since i have to sit on my bed to get on, and pics are a hassle to get on since the rest of the computer is blocked of by a dresser.lol. we are in the process of moving and its a little cramped where we are at.sorry about so many comments, like i said i am new to this

  2. dirtyduck,

Please do share that link with your husband. Maybe he will slow down eating meat. My husband didn't want to give up meat until the cancer. It is amazing how something that is life threatening will cause a dramatic shift in even the most stuborn people (insert husband here). Hopefully your husband will change before something bad happens. I wish mine had. But better late than never.

Of course I changed my diet too. I wouldn't ask my husband to do anything that I wasn't willing to do. We are in this fight together, for better or worse, We have been together for 22.5 years, and I would love it to be at least that much longer. We are one of those obnoxiously happy couples that other people think fight in private, only we don't fight.

Thank you again for the nice compliments. I try to be concise with my directions. I started blogging as a way to share my recipes with my friends all at once. I used to email them when I remembered, and the email list was getting longer and longer. You may have not noticed but I am much older than you are, as are my friends. I suspect that commenting is just something they aren't comfortable with yet. Many of them email me, or call, after they read the posts.

If you have any suggestions on how I could improve please feel free to share. I am very new to this as well.

You don't need to apologize for the comments. I thought I was being funny. I guess that doesn't come across so clearly in writing.

Good luck with your move. Will you be in the new place soon?

    Alicia
