Our Favorite Foods

When I put up my one year blog anniversary post Jenn said she would like to see me write something about our favorite meals. I was reminded of this tonight since Dan wanted me to make my Neapolitan Lasagna. Here is the list we came up with of our favorites. We may have missed few things since we did it from memory. I hope you enjoyed the recap of some of our favorites dishes. Dan is starting to feel better so cooking will return to my house tomorrow. Tonight he had lasagna for dinner, per his request. I was happy that he felt good enough for something that didn’t go through the Vitamix.

It is time for me to kick back and relax before bed. I hope you are all having a good Tuesday. Talk to you tomorrow.

  7. Michelle,

I am shocked you remember them all except the gnocchi. You have a good memory. Thanks for the compliment. :-)

  8. Emma,

You like the same things as my hubby. The sun dried tomato pesto is close to the top of his list too. He likes foods that are a flavor rush. ;-) Thanks for the compliment. :-)

  9. Gorgeous! And delicious, too, no doubt. The beet/greens dish is perhaps the most beautiful photo. :-)

  10. Melissa,

My personal favorite is the curried ravioli followed closely by the mushroom ragu and paella. It was much harder for me to pick a favorite. My hubby went straight for the lasagna. The first time I made it you told me he wouldn't miss dairy lasagna any more. I think the raw cashews and flour in the ricotta take that over the top. Thank you for the compliment. :-)

  11. Cindy,

I agree with you the beet risotto took the best photo. I had great light for that one since it was a lunch dish. Sometimes I think I should make everything for lunch so I can shoot it mid day. ;-) Thanks for the compliment. :-)

  12. I love this post b/c it puts together a nice list of Must Try recipes. The top ones that stand out for me are the gnocchi, ravioli, enchiladas and the banana soft serve.

  13. Heather,

Thanks! I am glad you like this post. I don't think you can go wrong with the ravioili, but I am a bit biased. The banana soft serve with nut butter swirl is also good. Dan's favorite dessert is the chocolate mousse hands down. But I know you are like me when it comes to chocolate.

    talk to you later,

  16. Great round up!! It was fun to look at, and the fact that I remembered most of these shows that your favorites are also the most memorable (makes sense!). I knew there would be something with those truffles in there, and obviously that queso dip had to make an appearance. Sooo good! So many things from this list that I want to try, so I'll bookmark so I can find it in a snap later.

I thought you might be interested to know about a new feature on blogger. Well it might not be new, but I just discovered it. Under the posting tab choose edit pages, and you can "add new pages". These are stand alone pages that you would create links to somewhere in your main layout. I'm going to create one as a recipe index broken down by category, and possibly another one as an about me page. I could see this being very helpful on your page, because you could have one that links to all your pages that are health article related and you could also do a recipe index, but that would be quite a project! Anyway, seeing this particular post reminded me of that, because just like doing a post like this, having stand alone pages can be a great way to point people to your archives. Something to explore on a rainy day perhaps :)

  17. Sarah,

Glad you enjoyed this. We must have the same taste in food. There were a few things I thought maybe I should have added but the list was getting so long I decided to stop.

Great idea about the page with a recipe index. I think that would take me weeks and weeks to finish. I may try it sometime if I feel inspired.

I thought the same thing about the health articles. I was also thinking of making posts on different foods with their benefits. As you can see I have more ideas than time. LOL. Sometimes I tend to bite off too much. ;-)

Thanks for the compliment and suggestion. I really appreciate them. :-)

  19. Courtney,

Thanks! Glad you liked the list. :-)

Dan said to tell you good choice on the mushroom ragu. That is definitely in his top 3 of all time. ;-) He even used to request it when we were omni if that tells you how much he likes it.

    I loved the recap!
    Especially the cheese dip!
    YUM

  23. Brandi,

Glad you enjoyed this post. The cheese dip is a favorite here. Dan likes to take it work every chance he gets. One of the omni guys liked it so much he went home and made it. Shocking right? That made my day. I hope you try the cheese dip. It is useful in many ways. I also use it to make "mac and cheese".

    talk to you later,
