Spring has sprung in my yard!

On my walk to the store I was noticing that the neighborhood azaleas are just about at their peak. Spring in our neighborhood is so beautiful. Everyone seems to have some sort of flowering tree or bush. I planted some very unusual ones in our yard. People always stop me when I am gardening to ask what they are because of the colors.

Once I got home I grabbed my camera and went out into my yard to see if I could snap a few pictures. I even managed to capture the bees that were busy pollinating. Here are a few shots of the beautiful spring blossoms in my yard. They are all azaleas, and as you can see I have many of them and each one is a little different. I have planted them all very close to each other so the blossoms seem to intertwine. I hope the beautiful colors make you smile. They always do that for me.

I am going to make myself some lunch but I will be back later with a dinner post at a minimum.  I hope you are all having a great day.

  1. GLORIOUS! No wonder your yard is a show-stopper! I would never come indoors. (At least, not at this time of year!) :-)

We're in for weather most foul (including that four letter word that starts with "S") for the next couple of days, so special thanks for this gorgeous post. I can almost smell the flowers, hear the bees, and feel the warm sunshine!

  2. La,

I am so happy the flowers made you smile. Also I so sorry they are using that nasty S word again for your area. I hope the weather turns for you soon.

Normally I keep my distance from the bees since I allergic. But these were so busy pollinating I didn't feel threatened. I took many pictures of them but didn't want to bore anyone.

The orange and yellow blooms are my favorites. I was worried the blizzard would damage the bushes more than they could take. But they are little troopers. I lost quite a few limbs but they still look beautiful.

    talk to you soon,
    Alicia

  8. Gorgeous, can I come and sit in your yard? You really have a green thumb:) Such a lovely variety of colors! You are so lucky to have the bees there also, still none around here.

  9. Shenandoah,

The orange and yellow are my favorites but I love them all, as do the bees this time of year.

You would love my dining room. It is a very similar orange with white woodwork. Apparently I like orange and white too. ;-)

  10. Janet,

Thanks! The colors are inviting aren't they? I really enjoy spring when everything starts blooming.

My green thumb seems to be confined to things like this (trees and shrubs). It starts to become iffy as we move to veggies. ;-)

There were bees everywhere today when I was taking the pictures. I included one pic since you had said you didn't have any at your place.

  12. My favorites are the golden ones at the top, the color is just so wonderfully rich and buttery. My next favorites are the two little pink ones that remind me of the flowers they use for Hawaiian leis...the bees adore these types of flowers too, which is always a bonus.

  13. Rose,

I love the yellow bush and it is huge now, almost 5 foot tall. You are right about the pink flowers. I had not realized that before.

    thanks,
