Maybe Dan should get you one of these aprons! (And hey, how can we be sure "Ali" isn't really short for "Alien?" Hmmm?)

So how did Dan like the results of your "stellar" paté experiments? If you can find somewhere that sells fresh tofu they may also sell okara since many Japanese use the okara for recipes too.

AliciaVegan Epicureanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203676819322299569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-784770846515276462010-02-27T18:03:43.106-05:002010-02-27T18:03:43.106-05:00Oh man...you are making me wish I had access to so...Oh man...you are making me wish I had access to some okara!

CourtneyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-23609340529192283042010-02-27T15:18:21.518-05:002010-02-27T15:18:21.518-05:00Elle,

I am a big fan of vegan spreads, so I was excited to see your post, and I so hear you on the fat issue. I've had great results used pureed sauteed mushrooms, pureed sauteed onions, or lentils in the base for body. My favorite is a combination of all three with some roasted walnuts thrown in as well.Ellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10324388188034542498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-28095613681165365912010-02-27T07:42:11.343-05:002010-02-27T07:42:11.343-05:00Vixen,

There is a reason my husband calls my kitchen area 51. ;)

Rose,

LOL, looks pretty cheesy in a good way! I love that!

The crackers are Mary's. I bought the box for the ingredients list so that I can play around with making my own version of them too. Since everyone raves about them I wanted to see if I could come up with a suitable recipe.

AliciaVegan Epicureanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203676819322299569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-33334986136041674772010-02-26T23:09:13.158-05:002010-02-26T23:09:13.158-05:00Those flax crackers look really delish...the pate ...Those flax crackers look really delish...the pate sounds really interesting...looks pretty cheesy to me (in a good way!).Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02114977921830686539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-82167122439152925732010-02-26T23:07:59.995-05:002010-02-26T23:07:59.995-05:00woah, i seriously need to look into okara. vegan c...woah, i seriously need to look into okara. vegan cooking school, anyone?veggievixenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02445552433318699413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-75217180223207360882010-02-26T22:04:40.046-05:002010-02-26T22:04:40.046-05:00Heather,

I was expecting baking to concentrate the flavors more than it did. But I am happy the texture was right. This one is close enough it may be right after version 2 or 3.

I thought you would be someone that would enjoy the process since you experiement at home too.

I wish you were here to taste it too.
