I should be specifying the brand I use. Good catch, thanks for pointing it out. I will do that going forward and update the pancake recipe in a few minutes.

AliciaVegan Epicureanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203676819322299569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-60636967253878199952009-11-08T17:00:22.586-05:002009-11-08T17:00:22.586-05:00Alicia,do you think whole wheat tastes diferent by...Alicia,do you think whole wheat tastes diferent by brand?dirtyduckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11383110271569591721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-37029412988366448442009-11-08T16:40:27.583-05:002009-11-08T16:40:27.583-05:00Rose,

I think I have finally made a tofu ricotta that I believe is as good as dairy. Until it is out of the oven I can't be certain but it tasted great going into the oven.

talk to you soon,
AliciaVegan Epicureanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203676819322299569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-80872714795438139462009-11-08T15:18:37.758-05:002009-11-08T15:18:37.758-05:00The pancakes look great, and they must be soooo mu...The pancakes look great, and they must be soooo much healthier than the standard version...even with the acrylamide. Sounds like you have a great day of cooking ahead.Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02114977921830686539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-84703085707780904392009-11-08T13:48:04.843-05:002009-11-08T13:48:04.843-05:00Ricki,

I should have been more specific, and yes it was Fahrenheit not Celsius.

I am hoping the apples helped to offset some of the acrylamide damage, but that is probably nothing more than wishful thinking. It is so hard to know what to eat these days. Everyday there is another story of something new to avoid. Soon we will only be drinking green tea and eating salad.

The pancakes were tasty this morning, and very filling. My hubby has already put in a request for pecans in the batter next time.

AliciaVegan Epicureanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203676819322299569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3790414766945352054.post-22873265161952062632009-11-08T13:37:50.951-05:002009-11-08T13:37:50.951-05:00I think it was a wise choice to make those pancake...I think it was a wise choice to make those pancakes anyway--gotta live! And they look great. Besides, the antioxidants in the apples probably counteracted the ill effects of the acrylamide ;) (Oh, and when I read, "It was 38 degrees," I immediately thought, "wow, that's hot! Wish we had that weather here"--of course, I was thinking Celsius!)Rickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10152813989228518262noreply@blogger.com
